Being in a command role was valuable as it allowed me to see the bigger picture.

Being the initial or 'boots on ground" was least because that is usually my role during training.

The training and simulation were great tools, however, the experience is limited by the user's knowledge/skill of the use of computer. May i suggest using game console controllers as those are more commonly used.

The Command, Tactical/Triage/Transport, Area command etc.

The individual activities on the computers.

It seems a lot of time is spent in the computers on things that aren't truly incident managemnt things. EG shooting bad guys and triaging patients. I think time is better spent doing mangement stuff. I spent alot of time standing around staging too. I think shifting focus away from the "technology" virtual aspect and more toward working the different "command post".

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

More large scale incident management.

Contact teams and RTF's. I feel this course should focus more on the "incident management" and the supervision of the incident. Less focus on the triage and treatment of survivors.

I wish I had the opportunity to part of the supervision and management of the incident instead of being assigned to contact and rtf teams.

Continued incident management on large scale incidents and multiple location incidents.

The deep dive into reunification was unnecesary.

Assignments should be based on current rank and potential next rank. Having commanding officers in law enforcement running in as members of an RTF or perimeter multiple times was useless. On the same note, patrol officers in the class being area command was not relevant to a task they'll be doing for many years, if ever.

More practical applications and training using positions specific to our current rank.

I came to this course because the flyer said it would enhance PIO skills. Since I am the PIO for my agency, I am disappointed that there was very little, and only basic instruction with canned statements, on PIO duties.

I thought the reunification process was helpful because that was not a section of the ICS chart that we had incorporated previously.
