- Cold Zone
- In an active shooter incident, an area outside of the Inner Perimeter and inside the Outer Perimeter where no threat is reasonably expected.
- Hot Zone
- In an active shooter incident, the area(s) inside the Inner Perimeter under direct threat.
- Outer Perimeter
- In an active shooter incident, a perimeter containing the Cold Zone and stopping at the Inner Perimeter.
- Warm Zone
- In an active shooter incident, the area(s) inside the Inner Perimeter where some security measures are in place.
