The hands on training was excellent. It is one thing to be taught the curriculum but to learn how to put it to use was very helpful.

The technology to be able to practice the new knowledge was very helpful and very intuitive.

More MCI and Incident Command classes along with growing my relationship with my other local resources to be able to work better in the event of a scenario.

I think the most valuable aspect of the course was the computer component. Lecturing is great, but getting to apply the newly gained knowledge in as close to real world as possible is PHENOMENAL experience.

Area Command.

I think the area command component should be relabeled. In my opinion and experience, resource requests should go through the incident commander, or a logistics officer, not through a separate division. While this component was taught to function very similar to an EOC style function I think it's mislabeled as "area command".

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Overall the class was great. I wish there were more opportunities for this kind of training across the entire country. Numerous people haven't been able to take this class, or others from the ALERT series, and its shameful. This information will save lives, and needs to be disseminated accordingly.
