The simulations were a valuable learning tool. You learned a lesson and applied it immediately after you were trained on it.

I would add a component dealing with civilian response to active shooters. There are many armed citizens that are training on the cilivian side to engage active shooters in the minutes before police arrive. Officers have to be able to determine whos a good samaritan and whos the active shooter.

Learned more in depth about command side and the staging area.

It all was great information to put in my tactical tool box.

For the scenarios, it was hard to get oriented on the computers. Maybe as a suggestion, have the scenarios outside in a active ienvironment.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I know have an initial understanding of how the command side works. The would be a class that the HPD Command staff needs to take. Maybe ALEERT can push to the upper brass.
