The practical applications and the establishment of a consistent line of command.

The technical side of the practical. it was difficult to maintain Contact groups and RTF groups when you didn't have full 360 view and becoming comfortable with the specific keys that needed to be used.

The "white noise" of having multiple tables with different groups with different priorities made communication difficult.

Continued ICS development and how this continues to grow.

Practical exercises. Provided real life scenarios and more relaistic as compared to most tabletop exercises.

It was a lot to cover in only 3 days. I'd extend a day and spend more time learning the Active Shooter Incident Commmand structure before going right into practicals. I'd also suggest spending more time explaining the 5th man/tactical role as it is one of the most important for initial response.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Continuing on the Incident Management Portion of Active Shooter Training and having the remainder of the Command Staff and Supervisors at the department attend this class as well.

Some of the bomb and IED stuff was good, but really only scrapes the surface.

The computer program was good, but would be better with more signs in the buildings. Example: Gate numbers in the airport and at train station. It was hard to know where I was at times.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Doing the same thing within my department (and those around me) so that I can see how this would work with oour people.
