The scenarios were well thought-out and executed. I enjoyed that students were cycled through many different positions.

The area command portion could use more refinement . It was hard to truly capture the interactions with our limited amount of students. Although some of my problem with it could be lack of experience in that area.

I have taken many of the FEMA NIMS courses and this is by far the most well delivered of the courses that I have taken. I believe that the computer simulations kept myself and other students fully engaged. They also cemented-in the topics that were discussed and the processes that were presented.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I will be continuing with other FEMA sponsored courses. Hopefully they will be as interactive and engaging as this one.

Ability to run multiple scenarios a day via computer to help drive the learning. Using the computer system allowed us students to experience real time the roles and positions we would fill in a real life scenario.

Driving on ambulances in simulations. I felt this was a wasted position that could have been completed via computer. Ambulance positions took valuable time away from practical experience in command, triage, transport or RTF.
