I think a slimmed down course would be great for media to help educate them on the complexity of active shooter situations and the coordination that needs to happen. Having that type of understanding could lead to better reporting and assist with preventing misinformation being reported to the public.

I recommen dialing back considerably on the Middle Eastern elements used in many of the scenarios. The Allah references and the Arabic recitations are a bit insensitive. I would feel uncomfortable if there were a student of Middle Eastern descent in our class session. If it makes an SC native feel a bit uneasy, I am not sure how that even flies in more progressive parts of the country.

This course is a hit the ground running and doesn't stop. That's good and bad in my opinion. Good because it fits a lot of training into 24 hours. Bad because it is tiring. :-).

I think this helps me understand the overall ICS training better and I'd like to continue with that.

As a PIO, getting time in front of a camera was the most valuable as you really feel as though you are under pressure and it most accurately simulates real life events.
