The most valuable part to me was the section that involved the way to determine separate roles for each member that arrived on scene. This allowed for the scene to be more manageable and made a lot more sense.

As a first line supervisor, taking the tactical command was most useful to me. That was the type of training I needed in year one as a sergeant.

I believe on the law enforcement side that attending an ALERT course or an integrated response class would be required to attend first in order to keep up with this course.

Breakdown of events.

Performing stuff on the computer made it more difficult to perform tasks that wouldn't normally be difficult. VR could potentially be more benificial or just doing the exercise in person vs screen.

I think there could have been a better breakdown of staging, tactical, and command with the entire class of what the focus needs to be vs. students going to it and asking "what am I supposed to be doing?" I think if you spend a little more time on their responsibilities it would help.

I felt AARs should have been more critical. I fear that the worry of "humiliating" others by calling out mistakes, deprives those same officers, myself included, from bettering ourselves from mistakes we may not have noticed. Those who interoperate such AARs as humiliation probably aren't cut out for these kinds of professions, and those we serve deserve better.
