Being put into leadership positions during various exercises was the most valuable, as I am normally not in these positions. This allowed me to gain a new perspective.

During the simulated computer portions, the time required to place a tournequet on a patient was not realistic. The actual time required in real life is much quicker. This caused delays in triaging patients.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

I appreciate practical and realistic training that relates to what I do everyday in my job. Since active shooter situations could happen while I am working, this type of training is the most important to me.

The practical exercises and especially the debriefs. Hearing from what everyone was going through and thinking helped me see the larger picture.

The content was presented quickly. I understand the need to do that to get through the practical exercises. There were some that had difficulties operating the computer keyboard. Allowing people some additional practice time on breaks would help them get comfortable with the computer.

Having an increased dispatch presence would bring an additional level of realism to the scenarios.

Rescue Task Force operations and tactics would be the most useful related training topic to go along with this course.

The Practical Exercises were the most useful. Getting to practice and work through the different roles really highlighted some of the weak points that would be present in a real world response, this led to a better understanding of how to attack the weak points and make them stronger.

Working on complex attacks with boards and chips served a purpose but was not the best part of the class. I understand their importance and why they need to be simulated that way, however I did not like this portion.

Working on a simulation that can be ran via technology rather than the boards is my only suggestion. Other than that, this class was very useful and relevant information.

Additional practical exercises to practice the different roles that would likely be the one I would play in the real world would be most helpful to me.
