The practical portion was able to put all the things in place that was instructed on and help you see it in a real life setting making it more memorable.

Some of the lecture portions were dry, but that is to a person who has had similar training. To a newer person without any exposure it would be fine.

The instructors were all approachable and did not make you feel dumb if you were unsure of something which needed to be done. They were all very helpful and knew what they were doing.

Anything which will help my knowledge set to make myself a better officer.

The exercise aspect of the course is irreplaceable. This is a tremendously beneficial method of learning a topic such as this. In such a complex activity, the repeated events was a great way to learn an appropriate response. Having all sectors of public safety taking part was truly incredible, and a fantastic learning experience.

I can't think of anything in the class that was not valuable, or least valuable. The whole package was a great experience.

I sincerely wish more of my command staff attended this event, as they are the ones who will determine if we adopt a policy/structure such as this.

Perhaps I will retake and pay more attention to the ICS classes that I have taken in the past.

Learning the different fields that come into play with an active shooter event. I have been involved in active shooter training for a large florida agency from a tactical stand point and seeing the additional areas involved help my knowledge of the BIG picture.

The PIO brief. I am sure that some agencies will have a line officer conduct the media brief, but the agency that I am employed by has a dedicated PIO that would handle the media.

We will continue to train with our local and neighboring agencies to provide the best training possible should an incident like this occur. I definitely see that the RTF is still an issue with active shooter event.t.
