Live, simulated communications.

Very basic, up front refresher in ICS. I feel a general understanding of who receives orders from who was lacking throughout the room. Too much cross communication on radio due to role players not understanding who they should give direction to, or receive direction from.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Practical evolutions of the simulated activities. In depth training in each of the assignments (Staging Area Manager, Resource Unit Leader, Area Commander, etc.).

It reminded me of some of the small things which can be forgotten when not trained on or used for a time.

Not really anything to say here. It was all good. Obviously resources are key and we are somewhat limited, but they accounted for that so it was good.

Excellent course. I wish we never had to train for something like this but here we are. God willing, that's all it will be is training, but good to have if we are faced with this evil.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

We can never get enough training in this area, but information on usable equipment for our Officers is always greatly appreciated. Possible sources for funding for equipment information would be good as well.

All other Active shooter classes I have taken becomes greater in value, combined with this class as it presents the full and complete revelation of Active Shooter dynamics.

The practical application of the command process and seeing and rotating through all of the different positions in play was great.

Another day of instruction and going slower through the exercises on day 1 and really driving home the principles could provide some improvement.
