The practical simulations, particularly when placed as command or in another staff position somewhat out of my comfort zone. Training in real time was very useful. I like that this wasn't one of the dreaded "death by powerepoint" sort of classes; the emphasis on scenarios was excellent for learning. All ICS classes should be conducted like this.

Setting up the command system and knowing which roles were going to be executed by whom. This helped me understand as a whole the roles that i could be put in and what to expect of others.
