Practicl exercises that implement the objectives of the course.

The computer simulation software while very useful in attempting to simulate an exercise without actually doing it; caused some dysfunction in simply learning how to manipulate the software and controls.

I would include a more directed instructional period to walk through how the controls work and actually some time to walk through the various sites to become a little more familiar as a responder would be in actuality.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

Developing the next stage of instruction for deployment at my department.

Tactical command and staging-had training already in other areas.

Dealing with media-good topic but would not fall to me in my current position.

Good class-maybe try to gear ics steps to smaller size agencies that would have a responder have to do dual roles (i.e. staging and tactical) until other resources deploy.

The instructors. Their knowledge and experience was key and their coaching during practical components allowed for a constructive training environment.

None. From the EM perspective all parts were valuable especially for situational awareness.

Integreating emergency management's role into the practical exercises more, even from the outset with the smaller incidents early in the course. Responders could have benefitted from learning more deeply what capabilities EM can provide and what their role would be in an incident small or large.

Further PIO training as well as AAIR to get a deeper understanding on the response side.

The practical drills where of the most value to me. Anytime you can drill with active immediate feedback, and are given a chance to correct mistakes prepares you to take an active roll in a real incident.
