I think that PD, Fire and Dispatch were all involved was most valuable. Dispatchers are often left out of training events and don't always get the training we should.

As a dispatch supervisor developing policy for my department, this was extremely insightful. I learned a lot about the big picture of incident management during a large scale event.

Dispatch's responsibility and part in the SIM activities was very vague and confusing initially. We felt like an afterthought. Nobody listened to us on the radio like we mattered. The instructor told us how to log in and gave a quick tutorial and left us without allowing us to ask questions.

Overall, this course was great and the instructors did an excellent job.

What other training is most important to you now that you have completed this course?

This class was perfect for my needs since I am not sworn and work in the Communications field.

I feel that as a dispatcher, getting to be involved with the scenarios was most beneficial because it helped me to understand the actual operations of these events. I know how to work intensive traffic, but I like to see all elements to give me a well rounded understanding.

I think there should be an option for dispatchers to role play as well, since we do have some valuable knowledge to bring to the table.

I feel that the FBI offered negotiator training would be very beneficial for all of my center to take.

Being able to see what law enforcement, fire and ems do. We usually dont get to see what they are doing we only get to hear what they share. It was an eye opener for me to see why ems requests mutual aid.

Once the scenarios started fire and law enforcement had little to no communication with dispatch. I would have liked to see more communication with dispatch.

I would like to get some training on handling calls by the suspect. how to handle talking one on one with a shooter.
