I think that this course gave me knowledge to how operations in a active shooter event works. I am unaware of all the people needed to make a incident successful.

Overall as a dispatcher I don't think that this class did me much good. I believe that this class is more focused towards fire, ems and law enforcement.

I feel like in the scenarios instructors did not give a lot of feedback to dispatchers. Instead it felt like the dispatchers were giving feedback along with the instructors to others in the class. I think that for me to use the information given in the class an entire agency would have to come to this class rather then just one dispatcher from the agency.

Negotiation Training.

Which part(s) of the course was MOST valuable to you. Please explain why.

The part that was most valuable was the second to last incident where one of the instructors simulated a 911 call of a hostage/barricaded shooter. For dispatch, this was very helpful to most realistically simulate a real situation.

As I am in dispatch, some of the more complicated and complex police issues were not as valuable but were still helpful in my opinion.

I would really like to get hostage negotiator training after this course.

Overall it seems like the dispatchers were mostly there for note taking. Gearing the course to make sure people utilize dispatch more effectively might be beneficial.

Seeing the fire and ems side of situations like these.

The simulator only due to the fact that sometimes as dispatch we did not feel involved in the situations that it was more Law enforcement and Fire based simulations.
