Talking to a hostage taker due to being a paramedic. I will not use that skill because I most likely won't be near a hot zone in order to use it.

The scenario based training offered the ability to enact those skills that were learned into a real time scenario. This would assist in an active real situaiton because we were able to train in real time as we would in real life.

How important setting up staging/triage is early in the incident.

Practicals were very repetative for Fire/EMS because active shooting incidents are very police oriented, with Fire/EMS worrying mostly about patient transport.
