The simulation exercises were the most valuable as they gave hands on experience and allowed us to observe how each area functioned.

THE MOST VALUABLE PART OF THE COURSE WAS BEING ABLE TO SEE ALL OF THE PD, FIRE, AND EMS WORK TOGETHER AT A TASK. KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING ON THE FIELD HELPS ME AS A DISPATCHER BETTER ASSIST THEM.

IRONICALLY THE DISPATCH PORTION WAS WHERE I LEARNED THE LEAST AMOUNT. I WOULD HAVE OBTAINED BETTER INFORMATION IF I WAS AT EACH STATION OBSERVING AND LEARNING WITH THE FIELD UNITS.

THE CLASS WAS VERY INFORMATIVE AND PRACTICAL FOR ALL MOVING PARTS THAT WOULD GO INTO A LARGE SCALE SITUATION LIKE AN ACTIVE ASSAILANT.

I LEARNED THAT I NEED TO TAKE A CRISIS INTERVENTION AND NEGOTIATION COUSE, TO BETTER ASSIST IN HOSTAGE SITUATIONS.

THE MOST VALUABLE PART OF THE COURSE FOR ME WAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO PRACTICE COMPLEX COORDINATED ATTACKS. I FEEL AS THOUGH I HAVE A MUCH BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HOW TO EFFECTIVELY MANAGE A SIMILAR SITUATION.

THE LEAST VALUABLE TO ME WAS THE FREQUENT CONTACT BY PHONE WITH UNITS ON SCENE AS WE TYPICALLY OPERATE DIFFERENTLY WITHIN OUR DISPATCH.

THERE WERE A FEW MOMENTS WHERE OUR LEO HAD THE SUSPECTS DOWN MUCH EARLIER THAN WHEN WE RECEIVED CONFLICTING INFORMATION FROM THE CAD. ALSO IF YOU WERE ABLE TO ADJUST THE HOSPITAL BED NUMBERS IT WOULD BE VERY BENEFICIAL TO PRACTICING TRANSPORTS WITHIN THE SYSTEMM.

NEGOTIATION TRAINING FOR DISPATCH IS THE TOP OF MY LIST.

The simulation was very busy for dispatch which made it very realistic.

Having 2 channels for dispatching to police was confusing for dispatch at first since we only use 1 channel unless the channel is secured.
