THE INSTRUCTORS ARE FANTASTIC. SUGGEST LAMINATED MAPS/DRY ERASE MARKERS FOR DISPATCH, ALSO HAVE DISPATCH TABLES SET UP IN SIMILAR FASHION TO FIELD UNITS, IE CIRCLE/SQUARE.

Very important information to learn when working so closely with PD and First Responders.

Which part(s) of the course was LEAST valuable to you? Please explain why.

Dispatch did not play much of a role in the activities, in a real world situation PD and First responders use dispatchers for almost all request. This class pushed responders to be independent and while that is great it is not reality for most.

Please provide any other comments or suggestions you have for improving this course.

I would love to see more involvement with dispatch, more roles being fulfilled, more calls coming in, and maybe a more realistic cad set up to work on.

Negotiation would be very important.

Not having a strong background in fire/ems, at times I didn't really understand it all.

Having actual people call in while we are dispatching and listening to radio traffic would make it more real for dispatchers in the class.

Hostage negotiating for 911 is important and i plan on seeking out through my center or on my own.
